MDI Course Access and Extensions
Course Access
Students enrolled in the Medicolegal Death Investigator (MDI) course receive 180 days (6 months) of access from the date the course begins.
While you have the full 6 months to complete the program, most students finish within 6 to 8 weeks, depending on their schedule and workload.
Recommendation:
We strongly encourage setting aside dedicated time each week for coursework. Consistent progress helps ensure timely completion and better retention of the material.
Course Expiration and Extensions
If your course is not completed within the 180-day access period, it will expire and no longer be visible in your dashboard.
Extension Option
You may request an extension with the following terms:
Extension Fee: $300
Extension Length: 180 days (6 months)
Progress Saved: You will resume exactly where you left off
To request an extension:
Email Student Support
An invoice will be issued
Access will be restored once payment is received
Important:
Extensions must be requested through Student Support. No exceptions are made for personal circumstances, including illness or family-related issues.
Extension Limits
Students may purchase up to 3 extensions
The total course access time cannot exceed 24 months from the original start date
If an extension would go beyond the 24-month limit, it will not be approved
This policy ensures that students are working from the most current course material, as content is regularly updated.
Examples
Example 1: Extension Not Allowed
Course start date: March 6, 2025
Original expiration: September 6, 2025
Extension requested: December 6, 2026
Approving a 6-month extension would extend access beyond 24 months from the original start date.
Result: Extension request is denied. Student must repurchase the course to continue.
Example 2: Extension Allowed
Course start date: March 6, 2025
Original expiration: September 6, 2025
Extension requested: Shortly after expiration
The extension falls within the 24-month limit.
Result: Extension is approved upon payment and access is restored for an additional 180 days.
Important Notes
Extensions are only available in 180-day increments
All extension requests are subject to the 24-month maximum access policy
If the 24-month limit is exceeded, the course must be repurchased and restarted
