Course Access Time

How long do I have access to online courses?

You will have access to all online courses for six months. This, however, does not take into account natural disasters or a major interruption in business on our end.

Can I get an extension for course access?

Individual Course

If you would like to extend your access to an individual course, the extension fee is the same as the current course enrollment cost, with the exception of the Medicolegal Death Investigator Course. This will open your course back up to the same location where you had stopped.

Medicolegal Death Investigator Course

If you have not completed your MDI course within the 6-month access period, your time will expire and you'll find you are no longer able to continue. This applies to all students and Academy policy does not permit exceptions for individuals regardless of the circumstances. Fortunately, if you wish to have your course re-opened and to continue where you left off, you can request a course extension. Unlike the individual course extension fee, which is the same as the current course enrollment cost, the fee for an extension of a MDI course is $300. You will need to email a request for an extension to student support. After your contact information is verified, you will receive an invoice for the extension fee. Once the invoice is paid, an additional 6-months from the date of payment will be added to your course and you can continue where you left off.

Courses That Began 24-Months or More That Have Expired

Due to the fact that the course is updated regularly in order to keep up with the most current information as well as changes in the laws, the Medicolegal Death Investigators course cannot be renewed or extended if it has been 24-months or more since your MDI session initially began, regardless of whether or not you received an extension. The 24-months begins and includes the month and year the course began. For example, if a course began in March 3, 2020, March would be the 1st month, meaning that the 24-month cut-off period would be February 3, 2022. In cases such as this, you will be required to purchase a new course. This ensures students are getting the most current material.
