Understanding accepted continuing education courses.
For recertification, we accept credit hours that may also have been used in another career field you are associated with, such as law enforcement, nursing, emergency medicine, and other criminal justice fields. However, not all courses can be used across both certifications. For instance, the continuing education courses for the Medicolegal Death Investigator Certification must, in some way, be applicable to death investigation. Below is an example list of what can and cannot be used as recertification hours. This is not an exhaustive list, but it does provide guidance on accepted hours for courses that may not directly relate to the death investigation but can apply to it.
